Welcome to the cosy village of Matapédia, Nature-Adventure's headquarter, located in the tourist region of Gaspésie, within the province of Québec.
Matapédia kingdom, where the salmon is king and the mountain is queen. In native Micmac language, Matapédia means: 'Where the rivers meet'...
This charming and welcoming place is located at the crossroad between the Matapédia Valley, the Baie des Chaleurs and the canadian province of New-Brunswick.So what do you want to do?
Geneviève Labonté et Jesse Allain, two guides that graduated from an Adventure Tourism and Ecotourism program at the college Mérici of Quebec in 2006. Our love for the outdoors grew greatly during that year of school.
Summer of 2006 was our first job as guides; Jesse worked for a canoe
outfitting company in New Brunswick, where canoeing became a great
passion for him. Geneviève was on the other side of the St. Lawrence
River as a sea kayakist spending all summer kayaking with whales. She
has great memories from her experiences and improved her kayak skills
quite a bit.
In the fall, we crossed Canada to work
a full winter season for a dog sled company in Lake Louise, Alberta. We
got the offer from Nature Adventure at the beginning of the winter
2006; having the chance to think about it through the winter. We decide
to take the challenge. It is not every day that an opportunity like
this is offered to you.
