From the small town of Sainte-Marguerite, on a distance of 69 km, you can follow the International Appalachian Trail, heading south, until you reach the Matapedia and Restigouche rivers.

Have a little stroll in the forest and discover the Matapédia and the plateaux flora and fauna. You will have the opportunity to see beautiful viewpoints and to observe the village of Matapédia from a belvedere. We propose you two different 4.5 km tours, one of them will bring you to Matapédia and the other one to Pico Falls. You also have the possibility to hike our 7 km round trip tour, to see the Pico Falls.

While you follow the Trail, you will progressively climb onto the plateau that will bring you in a maple grove. You will pass through the valley and find some beautiful sceneries. Upon the arrival at destination, you will get the chance to relax beside the Pico Fall while enjoying a good meal before heading to the town of St-André-de-Restigouche.

On this trip, hike from St-André-de-Restigouche to "Le Corbeau" cabin. The view from the deck of this cabin will take your breath away with its beautiful scenery, especially at sunset. It will leave you with unforgettable memories. This package is also possible from route 132, at the jonction of the Assemetquagan and Matapedia rivers, to St-André-de- Restigouche.

This charming hike starts alongside the challenging rapids of the Assemetquagan River followed by the climb to the plateau in a forest filled with lichen. You’ll get to spend your nights in the Corbeau and Turcotte cabins while passing at the regions highest point which is 1561 feet. Also discover the welcoming village of St-André-de-Restigouche and have lunch at the admirable Pico falls. Finish your journey with a stunning view from the Matapedia lookout of the Restigouche and Matapedia rivers which meets together.

For people that are looking for a challenge, experience living as a nomad for a few days and sleep from cabin to cabin. This gorgeous hike will bring you from St-Marguerite to St-André-de-Restigouche townsites on a distance of 54 km. The rivers you will have to march across may even challenge your comfort zone. Get ready as you will also pass through the North Clark Brook canyon where the tall cliffs, varied flora, cascades and waterfalls, the microclimate, and its sometime difficult passages makes this portion of trail a section you won’t want to miss.

To experience a complete self-sufficient hike, here’s a section of 69 km from St-Marguerite to Matapedia, with a few segments of old trapping routes. From high on the mountain tops and down the lowest valley and channel canyons, marching trough fields and dense forest, here are examples of what you’ll get to see and do while spending your nights in the cabins along the way.
